Job Description

Sonoran has recently started a new contract at the Air Force Language & Culture Center at Maxwell AFB, AL. This contract has several positions associated with it, all of which will perform administrative support to facilitate accomplishment of the Client’s missions. While this position is currently filled, we are accepting resumes to keep our resume queue full.

Successful course development and execution depends on robust assessment processes. Our employees conduct educational programs, individual, and course effectiveness assessment activities for courses to measure student changes in both the cognitive and affective domains.

Among the services our employees are:

1. Perform assessment support to include administering, collecting and analyzing assessment data (such as demographic surveys, pre- and post-course attitudinal surveys, pre-course tests, situational judgment tests, exit surveys, and end of course surveys) for events such as courses, Language Enabled Airman Program(LEAP) boards/participation, e-Mentor interactions, Language Intensive Training Events(LITE), Cultural Studies Project (CSP), Air Force Negotiation Center (AFNC) events, and other emerging requirements. The contractor will also identify performance trends and indicators, to include accessing and analyzing data for significant course periods (e.g., the first and second half performance periods of the Introduction to Culture (ITC) and Introduction to Cross-Cultural Communication (CCC) courses and LEAP performance trends). The contractor shall conduct course effectiveness assessments and provide the Client end of course feedback and all other assessment analysis data within six weeks of the defined assessment period and/or end of the course, as applicable. Based on student and instructor feedback, the contractor shall modify presentation format and update curriculum to correspond to education levels necessary for target audience.

2. Provide assessment assistance to the Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP) effort by evaluating via rubric and qualitative coding a sample of student responses to graded evaluation instruments for culture courses taught in the Air University (AU) schools.

3. Validate cross-cultural competencies to be used to provide cultural guidance to AU schools (including by considering minutes captured from pertinent accessible research focus groups).

4. Assist the Client in conducting comprehensive assessments of education and training courses created or managed by the Client.

5 Assist the Client in conducting on-going psychometric (e.g., reliability and validity analyses), longitudinal, multivariate, and nonparametric analyses using sophisticated statistical, measurement and programmatic assessment techniques and manage large databases in Excel/SPSS.These activities involve statistics and measurement techniques with applied or experimental data such as by conducting laboratory or field research and/or working on applied projects focused on collecting, analyzing, and reporting data.

6. Coordinate/schedule General Officer Pre-deployment Acculturation Course (GOPAC) assessments activities with the course director and academic advisor. These activities include, but are not limited to, conducting assessment interviews and collecting formal documentation throughout the GOPAC execution period; compiling draft assessments after-action report (AAR) in coordination with the course director and academic advisor; delivering post-course assessment Hot Wash to AFCLC staff; and making recommendations to the AFCLC staff and faculty based upon assessment findings.

Education

No specific education requirement has been listed, but a minimum of an Associate’s degree is preferred, with a Bachelor’s degree highly desired.

Experience

Required: Must have qualitative & quantitative data analysis experience. Must be certified in Microsoft Office 2010 Word, PowerPoint, and Excel, or perform to that level of proficiency.

Desired: Prior military experience; familiarity with language training programs.
