Job Description

Sonoran has started a new contract at the Air Force Language & Culture Center at Maxwell AFB, AL. This contract will have several positions associated with it. While this position is currently filled, we are accepting resumes to keep our resume queue full.

For this position, Sonoran will:
1. Maintain awareness of Air Force requirements for LEAP participants and ensure LEAP is vectoring participants to accomplishing and maintaining currency in all training events and requirements per Air Force guidelines to sustain required language billets.

2. Identify LEAP participants for future employment or additional training as well as those who qualify for Special Experience Identifiers (SEI) to meet language-capable airmen demands across Air Force specialties.

2.1. Assist the Client with formal submission of appropriate documentation to AFPC for inclusion in participant’s personnel records.

3. Assist the AFCLC with the input and tracking of LEAP candidates and participants using the Language Enabled Airmen Development Reporting (LEADeR) system.

4. Update and maintain the LEADeR tracking/monitoring database with current details of U.S. Air Force airmen’s foreign language skills and demographics, to include the following data:

4.1. Basic demographic information, including name, rank, AFSC, location and contact data.

4.2. Foreign language Interagency Language Roundtable (ILR) level (Defense Language Proficiency Test [DLPT] scores).

4.3. Training history to include Language Intensive Training Events (LITE), eMentor, and other events that provided language training.

4.4. Language-related academic record and/or native skills.

4.5. Defense Language Aptitude Battery (DLAB) tests.

4.6. Language-related assignments or utilization.

5. Participate in activities related to pre-travel immersion requirements—LITE, Regional Affairs Specialist Immersions (RASI), Language and Area Studies (LASI)—such as communicating with participants to gather participant travel availability, providing details for flight arrangements and travel requirement information (e.g., clothing, uniforms, and immunizations), obtaining permissions from supervisors and commanders, providing confirmation of timelines to the Client, communicating with vendors who coordinate with and arrange language schools, assisting with country clearances/visa/passport requirements, maintaining records, and/or other similar administrative processes.

6. Perform post-travel LITE activities, such as conducting surveys and after-action reports, and consolidating information gathered from LITE participants, and/or similar administrative processes.

7. Provide assistance to the AFCLC for the execution and maintenance of a state-of-the-art language program for general purpose force Airmen.This will include, but not be limited to:

7.1. Keeping records of student participation in language education activities (attendance to be maintained in LEADeR).

7.2. Communicating with the vendor of eMentor to obtain the data necessary for maintaining student records.

7.3. Continued inquiry into the participant’s language training needs.

7.4. Investigation into best language practices, resources, and instructional capabilities within the Air Force and civilian academia as well as other viable sources.

7.5. Maintaining a repository of current language instruction courseware and materials accessible to general purpose force Airmen.

8. Identify, recommend, and implement viable new technologies and capabilities to improve process effectiveness and efficiency.

Education

While no specific education level has been identified, a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree would be preferred.

Experience

Required: Must be certified in Microsoft Office 2010 Word, PowerPoint, and Excel, or perform to that level of proficiency. Must possess a SECRET Security clearance.

Desired: Prior military experience; familiarity with language training programs.
