Job Description:
Sonoran Technology & Professional Services is currently performing B-52 and B-1 Contract Aircrew Training and Courseware Development at Barksdale AFB, LA and Dyess AFB, TX. Our mission is to assist in the development of B-52 and B-1 combat-ready aircrew in support of nuclear deterrence and global strike operations. We currently have an opening at Dyess AFB for an Instructor Weapon Systems Officer (IWSO) / Subject Matter Expert (SME). Here are some of the responsibilities for the position:
Perform academic instruction using lesson plans to accomplish required lesson tasks.
Issue any lesson-related student materials. This does not include individual student publications distributed by Government personnel, such as, any operational Technical Order (T.O.), Air Force Manual (AFMAN), Air Force Handbook (AFH), Air Force Instruction (AFI), and/or Wing Instruction.
Perform academic instruction as required by the applicable syllabi or training plans
At the Government’s direction, provide the appropriate instructor/subject matter expert (SME) to be available for student assistance during selected self-paced and computer-based instruction. During these sessions the contractor will be responsible for the proper use of the equipment in the Learning Center and will report any equipment problems to the TRSS Detachment.
Provide make-up instruction of academic lessons to students who have missed class or have failed an examination. Report failed examinations in accordance with the syllabi and local Formal Training Unit (FTU) written policy
Provide remedial student training. Remedial training will be in accordance with the appropriate syllabus or training plan. Remediation will be scheduled by the contractor and coordinated in accordance with the local FTU written policy. Remedial training will be scheduled to allow continued normal progression in the syllabus or training plan.
Administer and score examinations. The minimum passing score will be as directed by the syllabi and local directives. All examinations will be debriefed to one hundred percent (100%).
Accomplish trend analysis and evaluation as described in AFMAN 36-2234 and DAF HANDBOOK 36-2675. Analyze all examination results for trends toward faulty questions and deficient instruction. Analysis results will be documented in the Training Evaluation Document (Refer to Style Guide).
Develop, review, and respond to end-of-phase and end-of-course critiques of academic instruction. Overall results and changes will be provided to the government in the monthly contract status report.

Education:
Bachelor’s Degree
Experience:
Secret Clearance
Qualified in the B-1 (for B-1 instructors) aircraft within last 7 years.
Qualified as a contract instructor in the B-1 (for B-1 instructors) within the preceding two years.
Previous flight instructor/evaluator experience in B-1 (for B-1 instructors).
At the discretion of the TRSS Det/CC and COR (per paragraph 4.3.2.1), be grand-fathered as a previously certified/qualified B-1 CAT contract Instructor.
Must have completed a formal Criterion Referenced Instruction (CRI) course (or attend within six months after start of training as an instructor). Completion of the Air Combat Command Academic Instructor Course or MAJCOM equivalent satisfies the CRI requirement.
Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office programs.
The following are highly desired qualifications:
More than 2,000 flying hours in aircraft listed above.
More than 500 instructor flying hours in the aircraft listed above.
Previous experience as an academic (FTU) platform instructor. Previous experience as a training device (simulator) instructor.
Qualified in the B-1(for B-1 instructors) within the preceding four years
