Job Description | Sonoran Technology has been working on the Information Technology Support contract at Ft. Detrick, MD. Fort Detrick Engineering Directorate (FDED) is responsible for providing network management, system administrative, programming, and information technology support services for the Windows workstations. The USAISEC FDED automation group is responsible for supporting FDED systems engineers, technicians, and general administrative support personnel in support of the FDED mission. This contract will support the current network infrastructure and the network infrastructure. Sonoran has been working on this contract for a few years, which helps support the USAISEC-FDED maintain its own automation support due to the number of employees and our communications mission. Although individual tasks have changed over the years, the basic intent of the automation group has remained constant – to ensure network connectivity and maintain functioning computer hardware to the USAISEC workforce. for accomplishment of the following tasks: Provide automation support to USAISEC FDED, and also provide a Contractor’s Progress, Status, and Management Report (CDRL A001) and a Weekly Status Report (CDRL FD08). Network and User Administration. The Contractor shall create, modify, suspend and delete user accounts, machine accounts and assign roles and permissions and document these tasks in the Weekly Status Report (CDRL FD08). USAISEC FDED has 141 workstations. The average number of actions is 50 per week. The Contractor shall create and document procedures for this task in the Technical Report (CDRL FD07). Helpdesk Support. The Contractor shall respond to HELPDESK messages and perform any necessary troubleshooting and problem resolution to ensure user satisfaction. Helpdesk messages average approximately five per day. Typical Helpdesk troubleshooting includes, but is not limited to, Common Access Card (CAC) lockouts; system, network and application installation, configuration and support; and warranty service calls. The Contractor shall also refer any walk-in / telephonic calls for assistance to the USAISEC HELPDESK email alias. Workstation Configuration to perform the following tasks in support of workstation configuration and document these tasks in the Technical Report (CDRL FD07) There are other tasks associated with this position, but not enough room to list everything. Education | While no education minimum is listed, Sonoran will require at least a High School Diploma, with some college highly preferred, with emphasis on an IT curriculum. |
Experience | Personnel performing the tasks of this PWS must meet the criteria for performing IA/IT functions as defined in DoD 5870.01 baseline certification requirement. This requirement states that network users with elevated system administrative privileges must have a current or greater certification as well as a computing environment certification in an IT field. Personnel performing the tasks of this PWS must also retain a current MCTS certification which meets the DoD 8570.01 baseline certification computing environment certification in an IT field. Assigned personnel performing the tasks of this PWS must also have a minimum of one year experience in configuring, deploying and supporting Windows 10 systems in a large network environment. Programming and scripting knowledge for automating procedures is encouraged. Advanced experience and troubleshooting skills with Group Policy is also encouraged
